Pretrial Coordination Guide
Pretrial Case Management: Organizing Treatment, Testing and Compliance
While a case is pending, there can be many moving parts: appointments, testing, treatment and records. Private case management can help organize them. It does not replace Pretrial Services, probation, defense counsel or the court order.
Quick answer
What Does Pretrial Case Management Do?
- Private case management may help organize appointments, treatment, testing, monitoring, provider communication, records and deadlines.
- It does not replace Pretrial Services or probation.
- It does not replace defense counsel or court supervision.
- It does not change the actual court order.

Distinction
Private Case Management vs. Official Pretrial Services
Private case management: optional private coordination, treatment and testing logistics, records organization and provider communication.
Pretrial Services: a governmental or court-system role where applicable, including supervision, court reporting, release-condition administration and other assigned official duties.
ETS does not replace official Pretrial Services. California Courts describes the pretrial stage.
Logistics
What Gets Organized
Appointment calendars, testing schedules, treatment enrollment, monitoring setup and records. See Court-Ordered Drug Testing and Proof of Enrollment.
Records
Records for Counsel
With authorization, verified records can be organized for counsel. Counsel decides legal use. See Court Progress Report and Attorney Collaboration With Treatment.
Limits
What Case Management Cannot Do
It does not prevent revocation, a warrant or violations. It does not guarantee compliance, satisfy official supervision or improve release odds. The legal conditions themselves are covered in Pretrial Release Conditions.
Legal note
Release conditions and any response to an alleged violation are decided by the court. Counsel handles legal issues.
